Security agents can be updated manually by logging into them with Administrator rights, shutting down their specific services (unloading the Security Agent completely has the same effect), extracting the contents of the pattern file archive to the Security Agent folder inside the client directory and restarting the services previously shut down or reloading the agent. Updating the pattern file of a security server can be done by extracting the contents of the pattern archive into the PCCSRV directory of the security server, which will automatically deploy the updated content to the connected agents after a short while. The difference between the two is that, while OPRs are thoroughly tested to provide optimum protection to the end users, the CPR is a pre-release that aims to provide users with additional protection in between official ones.

However, Soderlund said Zscaler’s channel program has reached a critical junction in its growth. According to Zscaler, the partner program contributes to 95% of the cloud security provider’s business. Soderlund spoke highly of Zscaler and its partner program, both of which he competed against in his former role at Palo Alto. He said he had known before that Zscaler enjoyed a strong reputation for its technology among partners. Soderlund is engaging in a listening tour with partners before he implements changes in the Zscaler Partner Program. Channel Futures named him a 2022 Channel Influencer. Soderlund has worked at a litany of high profile vendors, including Aruba and Avaya. “Karl’s deep partner expertise and proven track record with the execution of highly strategic partner programs at top networking and cybersecurity companies demonstrates that he is the right industry veteran to take our channel partner program to the next level,” Rajic said.
